Donnie: If you've ever liked someone because you were certain you had a chance
with them, then they stripped you of that certainty... you know a "Donnie". The original concept for
Donnie was that he would be Skippy's perennial object of affection, like an unattainable red-haired school girl. "Donnie"
was the title of an Ace of Base song about the unrealizable dream of landing a man who seemed just within reach. The
character is not inspired by one person in my life, but by several crushes that never came to fruition. We've all had
unrequitted feelings for someone, making Donnie very relatable. Will Skippy and Donnie ever end up together? It's not
likely, but stay tuned. The more I base Donnie's actions on people who have jerked me around, the less I approve of him!
