Ginger: Two things became clear to me in the beginning of doing Skipping Out: I would need to satisfy for Skippy the carnal need of every gay male to have a female best friend,
and not ALL of Skippy's friends could be mean to him. Enter Ginger.
Early
on I wasn't quite sure exactly where and how she'd fit in with Skippy's other relationships, but she's sort
of filled in the gaps where needed. She and Skippy have been friends for years, so she is a trusted advisory. She's also
festive, creative, and while softspoken, has a sassy edge about her. Because she's less eccentric than Skippy's other
friends, she provides more of a solid ground for his assimilation into the gay community. Of course, she is very much inspired
by my own real life "Ginger".
Oh and for the record, she is not
a faghag!
